Native Default from Madeira Island, Portugal, Native Default began his journey into electronic music during his university years in Porto. A defining moment came when he experienced a DJ set by Rødhad an encounter that opened his ears to a deeper, more immersive sound. Inspired by the emotional weight and crowd connection of that performance, he soon began exploring music production himself.

Motivated to deepen his skills, he moved to London to study Music Production at Point Blank Music School, graduating in 2017. Upon returning to Madeira, he became actively involved in the local scene both as a performer and educator. In 2019, he began teaching DJing and Music Production in partnership with a local club, aiming to cultivate emerging talent and contribute to the growth of electronic music culture on the island.

In 2023, he relocated to the Netherlands and collaborated with the artist collective Live or Dead, known for their modular synthesizer-based live performances. This marked a significant step in his creative development, allowing him to explore a rawer, more experimental sonic palette.

Now based in Dublin, Ireland, Native Default is focused on his solo project, which draws from years of exploration and experience. His sound is rooted in minimalist and hypnotic techno, infused with tribal rhythms and textured with raw, organic elements crafted to engage the dancefloor with depth and intention.
